Klintsovskiy merchant F. K. kartashev obtained permission to the institution of the printing house on 6 November, 1786; however, before the search of klintsovskikh knigopechaten at the end of January - beginning of February of 1788, with which in Kartasheva nothing they found, activity its printing house was not very active: is known only one, the undoubtedly belonging to it publication - Psaltir' with vossledovaniyem, printing of which was finished on 5 July, 1787, this publication it proved to be only, in which were indicated the present time and the point of emergence of the book, and also the real name of printer. Subsequently, the activity of printing house, was activated so, that in 1789-1797 it released more than 60 publications, which were characterized by the allotment of the books with false output information with the indication as the place of the publication Of pochayeva, L'vov, Grodno, Supraslya and even Kuteyno.
With the institution of printing house F. K. kartashev obtained the support of other klintsovskikh merchants, in particular - the brothers of Fedor and the cross board Of aksenovykh and Afanasy golubyatnikov. He interacted, undoubtedly, and with the founders of another klintsovskoy printing house - by Zheleznikovs and Rukavishnikovym. At the same time, if at first the repertoire of the publications Of kartasheva did not exceed the limits of that direction, which was assigned by the first klintsovskoy printing house, then from the middle the 90's it was characterized by the active publication of the before not printed by old believers monuments (Vasiliy novy's life, regulations about the Christian life, Zlatoust and other.)

Interruption in the activity type occurred in 1797, with Pavel I, when particular publishing house was forbidden. In 1797-1799 F. K. kartashev worked in Chernigov, in the printing house, which printed publications for the needs of Chernigov province administration. On the publication F. kartashev the books for the old believers became known malorossiyskomu military governor mikloshevskiy. Was produced search in the house Of kartasheva in the keys and shere konfiskovany discovered there two printed camps and books. Was closed Chernigov civil printing house despite the fact that it To kartashevu did not belong.
2 June 1801 because of the troubles F. K. kartasheva Aleksandr I published the edict, which permitted it to contain printing house in the keys. And although this edict on the insistence of synod was soon subjected to revision brought as a result to his cancellation, information about it rapidly reached keys. The first editions of the newly brought printing house, probably, were released as long ago as 1801 or 1802, and in their output information was a reference to the edict: it communicated that they are printed from the "highest permission".
After death F. K. kartasheva in 1805 the work of printing house headed his son Akim, who began to help father even in the 90's of the xviii C. A. f. kartashev enlarged that reaching to it enterprise and attempted to legalize its work. Twice, into 1806 and 1811, he turned himself into the Chernigov province administration with the request to solve printing house, but his rotation remained without the answer. On 28 June, 1812, followed the edict of synod about closing of klintsovskoy pechatni as "without the permission of that existing". In connection with this it was sealed up and returned under the supervision Of the surazhskeyeo lower zemstvo law court.
A. f. kartashev showed on the examination that in the published books he made. Known also that in its printing house was spravshchik of the books - Prochor Ivanovich tepikin - and, therefore, was produced their editing.
As a result of consequence the printing of the books To a. f. kartashev was forbidden, but it did not leave the attempts to attain new permission to the discovery of printing house. A question about the device of coreligionist printing house in Moscow was solved at that time, and A. f. kartashev proposed his services in the printing of the books for the fellow believers. His troubles, however, did not crown by success. As far as the typographical material, which belonged To kartashevu, is concerned, at the proposal of authorities it was sold by the owner of the coreligionist printing house founded in Moscow and yet not one decade it were used in its publications.
When klintsovskoy printing house governed A. f. kartashev, occurred changes in the system of the allotment of publications with false output information. From them disappeared the reference about the "highest permission", as the place of the publication it began to be indicated "pochayev", but the time of publication was not indicated completely. In all in the beginning THE XIX century klintsovskoy printing house released more than 50 publications. As a whole, because of the activity F. K. and A. f. kartashevykh, old believers obtained more than 110 publications.
